Hello and thanks in advance. We have a 2013 Accord that we love but it's getting too small for my son, who is 13yrs old and 6'4". We think he's got another few inches coming over the next few years. He is miserable in the 2013 Accord unless he's in the back with the passenger seat moved up. However, my wife rides with us a lot and even when she doesn't, I like to pretend that I'm not his chauffer.

I've been researching cabin space in SUVs and Cars and I see that the 2021 Accord has more front and rear leg room than damn near anything aside from large SUVs, supercrew pick ups, the Audi A8, BMW 740 and Lincoln Aviator. It has more legroom than the Pilot, at least on paper.

Do any of you have tall passengers that mainly ride in the back, and if so, what are your experiences? I would love to trade the 13 in for a 21.

Of course, I'm taking my son with me to the dealership when we can find the time.

Tallest person I’ve had in the back seat was 6 foot 2, and he fell asleep about 10 minutes after getting in. There is a LOT of space back there, but (like every car) it depends on the position of the front passenger seat.

I’m 6’3” and can comfortably sit in the back seat with the driver seat set for me. My height is more in my legs than in my torso.

I am 5'10" and find plenty of legroom in the back but headroom isn't a high as I'd prefer. A friend who is 6'2" finds my passenger front seat rather too small, yet my 6'2" brother-in-law found enough space in the back seat to be comfortable. It seems at least some tall people won't be very happy in one or more seats of a 21 HAH.

But perhaps not all is lost. The friend who finds my front seat too small normally drives a Pilot and loves the amount of space it has (though he laments the mpg). Unless your heart is set on an Accord, maybe a different vehicle will deliver the space needed.

I am 6'4", and our 2018 Accord Hybrid passed my "can I sit behind myself?" test. I think there is plenty of leg room in back, it is as good as many full-size sedans. In comparing specs, the thing to look for is the sum total of front and rear legroom, since the front seat position can be adjusted. From memory, I seem to recall that the Accord's combined legroom was greater than that of a Camry, and approximately the same as an Avalon.... But, headroom in back is compromised by the sloping roof line. So it depends a bit on the proportions of the tall person in back, torso versus legs..... I am still OK in terms of headroom in back, but just barely.
