So I bought my Accord Hybrid (Touring) back in July 2022. After a few months my phone (iPhone 14 Pro Max) failed to connect to my car wirelessly, and using a cord would not connect either to Carplay. I take it in to a local dealership and, after much hoop jumping, they replace the whole audio system under the warranty. Six months or so pass and low and behold the problem arises again.

After conversations with a certified Honda Mechanic I know and trust, they told me the easiest fix is to disconnect the battery and basically reset the car's system that way. That worked, for about a month, but now I've had to do it three times in the past month.

Anyone else have this issue and got any solutions?

(Note: I've done all the basic steps recommended by both Honda and Apple with zero success).

I had a somewhat similar issue and I posted about it here. I hate wireless CarPlay and have found it to be unreliable in both our Accord and our new Bolt EUV at least some of the time. I've also found wired CarPlay to be less than 100% reliable in both vehicles with stock entertainment systems. Interestingly enough, the after market CarPlay unit I had installed in our old Kia Sorento worked (wired only) 100% of them time - literally never had an issue.

My Accord's unit stopped charging my iPhone 13 Pro, and after replacing the USB port (made no difference), the dealer replaced the entire unit in September 2022. Wireless continues to be hit or miss, and frankly, so does wired. It was especially bad over the holidays.

I try to make a habit of starting the car with my iPhone unplugged, then waiting until I've pulled out of the house and am at the stop sign at the end of our street before I connect the cable. If I connect it sooner, or heaven forbid, before I start the car, I'd say it's a coin flip as to it either working or me getting some message about the SmartPhone Connection Service failing, then maybe the entire UI of the entertainment center failing. But then I forget about that when I'm at a gas station, and I get back in the car with the phone connected and it works almost every time.

Basically, as much as I depend on CarPlay, I hate how it works in our 2022 Accord Hybrid. I've tried different cables. I've tried powering the car off and on. It's just not reliable. I'd give CarPlay in the Accord a C at best. The Bolt EUV a B. And my (now traded in) aftermarket unit in the Sorento an A+.
Similar to as you mentioned, my wife's 2019 Fit's Carplay (wired only) works 100% of the time for both our phones and connects instantly when the cord is plugged in. My old 2017 Civic SI had zero problems with Carplay (wired only) as well and I've not heard complaints from either my my parents who both drive a different newer models of Honda so it led me to wonder if I got a strange dud off the assembly line with my vehicle.
