Whenever I am on a phone call, whenever the passenger speaks, they can not be heard. This is very annoying on a trip talking to people, because they can not participate in the conversation and I have to repeat everything. It has gotten so annoying that we take the call off of Car Play to talk. I went to the dealership to get it fixed and paid $190 diagnostic fee only to have them say that it is a bad design and working properly. maybe it is because the seat is so low, but terrible design and very frustrating. I am wondering if others have this problem too?

Report the dealer - there should be no diagnostic fee if there is a warranty issue with something not working.

I seriously doubt a seat that is an inch too low would make a difference.

There's only one microphone located in the overhead console. There is no reason why it shouldn't pick up anyone's voice inside the car no matter where they are sitting. It either works, or it doesn't. l am not buying any of this.

I believe the microphone is above the driver closer to the window.

Combine the microphone location and any background noise filtering and it's not unusual the passenger cannot be heard.

Hands free is a driver convenience/safety feature, not intended for passenger benefit.

The microphone is centrally located above the center console. There is no reason why it would pick up just the driver's voice, and not any passenger inside the car. If all the windows were down at speed, or in a noisy environment, I'd expect trouble with ANY car.
