6mt 2nd gear grind

First colder morning (50s) since I got my car. Left the house and 2nd gear was hesitant. Double clutched a couple of shifts then did a normal 1-2 shift at 2300 rpm. Nasty grinding followed. Not very happy. Anyone else seen this on their 9th gen? 1200 miles on the car. Once it warmed up it was fine. Been driving stick for almost 30 years. Shift was not rushed and the clutch was fully depressed.

Anyone else?

Although I have not had a "grind" in between shifts I can attest to the fact that the shift are not as smooth when the car has not had time to properly warm up. I always take it easy for the first 5 miles with these colder temperatures...
No issues here the past few days.

My 2011 Challenger had a 2nd gear grind when cold. That is one of the reasons that I no longer own it.

i have a thread on this and a few other people have had the same problem including my self.... i also had it in my 2008 civic when i was in high school

i was gonna say that.. my 8th gen civic had that notorious third gear grind.. kinda surprised to see similar issues with an accord
Third gear here sometimes, but its if I let off the clutch too quick before getting it in gear.

Unfortunately this is normal for honda cars 2nd to 3rd gear for me I've had numerous honda cars and all of them have had this problem even when you use synchromesh transmission fluid you will get it not as often but it will still happen. It happened with me and I had about 150 miles on my car. I think someone did something with the clutch resevoir it supposedly lets the clutch go into gear faster which may help. Check the forum for a possible fix.
thats why always warm the car for about 5 min.

My Miata has been difficult with 2nd gear as well, but it is 10 years old with a lot more miles. I have been using Ford Motorcraft trans fluid with good results. If I continue to have issues with the accord, will look at changing the fluid to something different to see if it helps. I know on the Miata it has been an issue with some. But on my GTI it shifted smooth all the time even when cold. And it was a VW, go figure..........
3rd gear once in a blue moon, i think also i let off clutch to early before in gear. I moved seat up closer to make sure the clutch to floor as i shift. no problems after that.

I searched but must have missed your thread. Looks like it is not just isolated to my car. Did it again today. But once it is warmed up shifts like a dream.

I had this problem on my 1986 Celica GTS when the car was around 60K miles. The 2nd and 3rd gear synchros went bad when I thought it was a worn clutch. I don't think this will improve or is normal so you have to get it fix if you want to sell the car down the road. You just can't say this is normal to a potential buyer.
My '09 did that too. 2nd gear, as well as 3rd. I changed the transmission fluid to Amsoil Synchromesh in the proper weight and have never had any issues with it until I traded it (15k miles later).
