The radio died. There's no sound to any speaker except an occasional pop. I was looking into a replacement but I'm a a little confused. The OEM stereo has 3 pairs of speakers, front tweeter, front main (in door) and rear main.

I've been hunting around, but I keep finding references that say the tweeters and door speakers are in parallel from the factory - but I have distinct wire pairs for both in the harness...

All the stereos that I've been looking at appear to have only two outputs.

As far as I can tell the speakers are about 4 ohms each. I wonder if putting them in parallel (2 ohms) will load the aftermarket unit too much?

Is there a standard practice for wiring in a new aftermarket radio with this setup?

I stand corrected. The front tweeter and main speaker are tied together.

I ended up using the lower cost Metra adapter (~$20). It seemed to work reasonably well for the price.
