Hi everyone,

I have a 96 LX wagon. it needs a new hood release cable, and one of the rear brake lines just blew. The dealership says that both of these parts are no longer made by Honda and that I need to try and find them on my own. Any suggestions where I might look? Thanks!

Look on RockAuto, they should have brake hoses (I assume you mean the hose, not the actual metal brake lines).

I work for a Honda dealer in NH and just ordered a hood cable for my son's 96 Accord yesterday. Have them look it up by the VIN number. Otherwise there are tons of aftermarket ones online too. I've been looking. As for the brake line, they can make one from generic line available at any auto parts store.

The hood release cable
Wire Assembly, Hood (Left-Hand) -
Honda (74130-SV5-A00)
is discontinued and not available.

As are the rear brake hard lines “pipes”.

Dorman 912-012 should be your hood cable.
Dorman also makes the rear hydraulic soft lines.

My mistake, I didn't see that you had the wagon. Not sure why the hood cable would be different. But it must be a different length or something. Hopefully the Dorman number will do it for you.
