No... still running on the original batteryHave you replaced the hybrid battery yet? If so, how much was it?
The 7th gen and 4th gen Accords are in agreement.
I had a 10th gen accord. Frankly, in some regards, it was a downgrade from the 9th gens I've owned.I only have 73,000 on my 2013 EX-L V6. I would like a 10th or 11th gen but I'm bothered by the lack of satellite radio on blind spot warning on the 11th gen. I really would like Apple Carplay and radar cruise control but I'm having a hard time justifying the expense when I've got a fully paid off car with no maintenance issues.
Interesting. Since the pandemic and my wife saying she's done with the 900 mile drive to New England to visit my family (we fly now), I'm only putting on about 5000 miles a year. I don't really need a new(er) car. But when I rent something will Apple Carplay, I think "I really want that." And driving my wife's Rav4 with radar cruise control I say "I want that too."I had a 10th gen accord. Frankly, in some regards, it was a downgrade from the 9th gens I've owned.
The better MPGs only get you so far with daily driving. Doesn't mean much if the lack of bottom cushioning on the drivers seat decides to make its presence (or lack thereof) known. Furthermore, the storage for your items is lessened versus the 9th gen.
I'll stop here before I'm up all night whining about it.
I can give you more detailed thoughts and opinions if requested.

i've had the accord with it, along with other rentals over the past couple of years. that would also include lane keep assist, emergency braking mitigation, etc.Interesting. Very interesting. I’m curious if those types of jobs are available in the lower NY region. Everything I see requires vans or trucks. It must be very enjoyable driving an accord all over and getting paid to do it.

On a serious note as I get older and more tired of working overnights and overtimes (17 years straight currently). With all these miles and road time, how much time to you get at home to spend with family or doing stuff you want or need around the house?260k miles.
What crazy is the fact that if I didn't have plans this weekend, I could have had another 2500 miles added onto the odometer.
Work offered me a trip to almost fort worth texas....

to answer your questions...On a serious note as I get older and more tired of working overnights and overtimes (17 years straight currently). With all these miles and road time, how much time to you get at home to spend with family or doing stuff you want or need around the house?
Most of the people I know, probably because of how I started are working for companies with that. I don't know many that are self employed or own their own business. The ones that I do know that way are in constant conversations of their healthcare costs and how trying to put some $$ away into IRA's for future.
With the company you work for do you get paid time off as vacation or sick days? What about health benefits or retirement plans like 401k/403b. I think you said your income is almost totally based on the mileage. I hope that it at least gives a good compensation to cover the sleeping the Accord so often. I think of you and others as compared to OTR truck drivers but they are now limited with all the electronic logs and regulations to what they can do or lose their CDL. NY DOT is this: A commercial motor vehicle driver:
Drivers using the sleeper berth provision must take at least 8 consecutive hours in the sleeper berth, plus 2 consecutive hours either in the sleeper berth, off duty, or any combination of the two.
- May drive a maximum of 11 hours after 10 consecutive hours off duty.
- May not drive beyond the 14th hour after coming on duty, following 10 consecutive hours off duty.
- May not drive after 60/70 hours on duty in 7/8 consecutive days. A driver may restart a 7/8 consecutive day period after taking 34 or more consecutive hours off duty.
For me and maybe a lot more self reflection after my dad passed. I see all the younger workers at my job not staying in the off shift or even in position for more than 18-24 months before bidding for more. There is not much financial reward to stay and have that experience, commitment, pride to stay a good or better job and teaching others. They will often just move along shortly anyway.
As I lay down to nap/sleep at 3pm every Sunday afternoon for 5-6 hours so I can stay awake all night, I think about the 17 years / 640+ weekends I did not have a 2 day weekend or travel to parents or have dinner with the family. I was either sleeping or too exhausted to drive.
Sorry for the depressing post/rant. But the questions are serious as wonder about future.
