Hey guys I'm about to purchase a Sony sub in an audiobahn box with a mtx amp. I was wondering if I could get some input from you guys before I made the purchase. Let me know what you think:

Sony Explod Subwoofer (XS-L122P5)
-12"
-1300 watt
-380 watt RMS

Audiobahn Enclosure
-fits a 12" sub

MTX Audio 4001 Amplifier (MXA4001)
- 400 watts

EDIT: I have another option: I can get the Alpine Type R SWR-1222D, lemme know how good that sub is

That sub is pretty dated and was very crappy when it came out. Don't waste your money.

what about the amp, is it a decent amp, im getting everything for $200, if i buy the amp alone how much should i pay?

Mtx higher end stuff was above average. That amp was part of their lower line. I'd stay away

What's your budget and what are your goals?

Budget is around 250 installed, Im getting the alpine one for 150, its in a custom made box.... I dont have an amp yet but will be looking for one.
