I have an 8th gen according sedan, and when it goes out. I want to swap it from i4 to v6. I know that the struts are the same, and the transmissions are not the same, but I don't know ow what the rest of the differences are. Would greatly appreciate any help.

A few existing threads on the matter. It is not going to be easy or cheap, it would be cheaper to just get a V6 version.

OP, on a very serious note, whatever you're trying to do is going to be incredibly expensive, especially considering the age (and current values) of the 8th gen.

I think you should sit down and really think before investing so much money. We don't want you to spend money on a turbo when you're going to look back and think "should've done the V6".

I had a chat and the v6 will be just a bad idea, because she is too mint to be traded, and this will continue to be my daily until it rusts out, so the investment into a new engine amd turbo will be far cheaper than an entirely new car. I really appreciate the input, but I won't regret the 4. Thanks for the help.

All I can say is do your research. Also, if you can't do any work yourself, any kind of mod is very expensive. The K24Z makes for fairly reliably turbo motors straight out of the box if you keep it around 350whp. But since everything is custom, it'll cost you like $10-$15k to have a shop do all the work.

She is sort of high mileage, so I am wondering, would it be cheaper to swap in a fresh turbo 4, have it rebuilt and turbo it myself, or have a shop rebuild and turbo it?

You don't seem to really have a plan. You keep referring a turbo 4, what engine exactly? A K20C? A boosted K24Z? A boosted K24A? A L15B? A EA888? A EcoBoost? How much are you willing to spend? What's the goal? What are you planning on doing when rebuilding the motor? What's high mileage?

Hoping to rebuild the k24z and have them put a turbo on it to make 300hp. I'm willing to spend whatever it takes to get it done right. High mileage. Not for the car, but I'd prefer to have it rebuilt before I add boost. 149,000 MI. I haven't read up enough for it yet, but im not leaving until atleast July. Preferably less than 12k

The K24Z can easily make 300hp. I went boosted at 150k, now at 230k. No problem. The K24Z can make close to 400WHP (or close to 450hp at the crank) on stock internals.
But if you're willing to spend 12K, just buy a 10th gen 2.0T. Much faster car out of the box with tons of aftermarket support.

The only reason I can justify my build is that I did all the work and ended up spending only around 3k.

I will take all of the info you have on what you did, and how to make 300 hp out of it. She is too mint to swap. And I have too many memories just chilling to let her go. I'm not the most engine intelligent, but I can give it my best. Also, should I have the transmission rebuilt? I know a guy that does them well for decent price and I feel insecure about it. (It isn't acting up, I'm just scared)

It's all on my build thread.
