Not yet, for two reasons. One, paying off the house is now within sight. Two, ever see used car prices today? I drove by the local/only Honda dealer and they had mostly pickups in the used car lot. No thanks. A few SUV's and only two or three cars from whatever manufacturers.

I've seen used car prices, I almost bought the beautiful red 2017 v6 manual coupe from carvana for some 27 and chump change, I'm still 50/50 on that one though. I pretty much paid almost same amount for 17 v6 sedan brand spanking new back in the day, but the dying breed of v6 and manual transmission was an impulse buying tingling sensation.

The 8th gen is the last Accord with double wishbone front suspension, but it was also designed to be the Honda Inspire first and Accord second, while the 7th gen was designed to be the Accord first, so it looks and feels a lot fatter than the 7th gen. Still perfectly good cars of course, just a bit of a deviation from the earlier Accords, and less fun to drive imo. The 9th gen gets smaller and sportier again, and the switch to macpherson strut doesn’t really compromise the handling, but I only briefly drove one.

Was it gone in 60 seconds?
Shhh! They haven't found me yet. :)

Saw a 2004 TSX for sale on a local Facebook page, $7000 and 149,000 miles. Financially still not ready to make a move in the car world. However, since that TSX has 3 pedals, I think it may be available for a while.

The house is paid off! Yay me!

Now I wait for more fundage to come my way.

I did see a '12 Accord SE on a nearby (~150 miles) Craigslist for $16,500. 2.4 engine, 38,000 miles, new tires. That thing won't be there when I have the cash. It has an automatic (or do they have CVT's?) and what looks like leather seats, which I'm not a fan of.

Still hanging out here. There's a 2012 Accord SE for sale about 150 miles west of here that has my eye, but it also has a rebuilt title. Or was for sale; I don't see it on that site anymore. Perhaps their April price of $16,500 was too high, then they lowered it to $15,500 then to $14,500 before it vanished from the web a few days ago. (I suspect it may still be available, they're just taking a break from trying to sell it.) 4 cylinder, automatic, 42,000 miles. I haven't gone to look at it as I'm still amassing funds. Probably won't be able to actually get anything until December or so for that reason.

Since losing the car in the crash 1.5 years ago, I decided to put financial goals in front. The first one (paying off the house) was done in June. The second one (reaching a certain level in the bank account) was done just a few days ago, though it by design is an on-going thing.

Anyhow, now that both goals were reached, I'm looking for another Accord. I found two 9th gens so far.

Congrats on joining the mortgage free club! That's awesome.
We had those two 9th gen sedans for our daughters for a bit. They were both LX with 4 cyl and CVT. I think the 4 cyl in those has very ample power. I was surprised at how good the acceleration felt compared to the 4cyl 6th gen we had. The CVT fluid was super easy to change in them. Great cars. Can't wait to see what you pick.
