Engine air filter are supposed to last up to 30k miles. 10k is too soon to change them. I have 5k on mine. Just looked at the filter this past weekend and it's practically new. Do you live in a very dusty environment?

The other option is to buy it online.
http://curryacuraparts.com/ has free shipping and is perfect for low quantity, low priced items. Just do a part search for your filter number.
I4 filter: 17220-5A2-A00

Not to be a d!ck but I hope you don't seriously apply that logic to wear and tear items on a car.
Different drivers will reek havoc on cars in so many different ways.

I am coming up on 10,000 miles and need a engine filter.

Are there any aftermarket ones yet??

Honda wants 35 bucks for their filter..
Check your filter before you change it, 10,000 miles is pretty early. No need to waste money, if you don't need it just yet. Also, a lot of folks like to replace the in-cabin filter at the same time.

[sarcasm] Of course! I don't bother following Honda's regular maintenance interval. All that stuff about maintenance are just suggestions anyway. Why bother doing with filter changes when you can just trade in the car for a new one?! [/sarcasm]

Were you skipping words when you were reading my post? "Up to" does not mean "at least". Honda recommends changing the filter at 30k, you can do it earlier, but 10k is waaaay too soon. It's like getting 60k mile tires and only using them for 15k.

I suggested looking at the filter first since it's only 3-4 clips holding the cover now. It's quick and easy and it'll give you an idea of how dirty your filter really is. If the top side is still bright white and the bottom is light-medium grey with parts of it that are still white, it's "OK". If the top is turning grey or the bottom no longer has any part that's white, it's time for a change. In any case, I wouldn't keep it in the car for longer than 30k miles.

SSMV6, I hear ya brother. I wrote service at a Honda dealer and we had people come in with year old Odysseys complaining it needed new tires. Their logic, 'this is a new car' 'these tires should last 5 years'. All the while the van looks like it's been used in the underground railroad.

Wow i thought it was 10k for some reason. The book does say 30k, but it says t15k for more challenging driving conditions.

Also, i meant that there aren't any aftermarket filters avail yet for the 13 accord. (fram wick etc)

sorry for the late follow up

It is Wix. Not Wick !

I use NAPA GOLD or Wix (same filters).
I like Fram from Walmart coz the rubber part surrounding the filter fits more snug in the air box so less dirt in and its at Walmart so dibs on the aimless wandering a bit!!. I've tried the Wix and you get better throttle input but to the expense of looser fitment, imo.

So far, I have only come across the K&N that kwicslvr mentioned. Nothing else from any of the others that I have checked.

bump.. close to 30k.. Looks like Honda is the only one that makes this filter? Can someone confirm?
Are we saying that no other manufacturer has made an ENGINE AIR FILTER for the 2013/14 Honda Accord, one of the most popular cars and one that is going to sell 350,000 units in each of the next several years?

If so, hard to believe. Maybe I am missing the gist of this thread

WIX Part # 49750

RockAuto FTW. The "Honda OEM" is probably just Wix rebadged.
