I noticed part number TP-7011B on the Takeda SRI instructions for a Pre Filter.

Is anyone is using this over their Takeda SRI filter?

I would imagine this would effect air flow to an extent...but perhaps would also keep the actual filter cleaner for the long term.

Thoughts?
:dunno:

Oh that's what that is? It's an equivalent to Injen's Hydroshield, but I have that on my CAI..I guess you could have it for an SRI but I don't see any positives for it except it trying to repel water too. lol

It will keep the filter cleaner longer. Any effect on airflow will be minimal, and the stock air intake already provides more than enough airflow for the engine, so no worries there.

Since this is my daily driver (500 mi./wk) I plan on getting the Pre Filter soon.
Will post my findings here for others.

On another note I am digging my Takeda SRI so far. No CEL and I find the car is more responsive and peppy, esp. moving from a complete stop in traffic.
