On our 2007 SE we just leave the headlight switch on. They are not daylight sensitive but do go on automatically when you open the door and off within 30 secs. of turning ignition off.

I haven't really paid attention because I dont tend to leave my headlights on but I believe my 03 ex has the auto on/off headlights (given you are talking about the auto off feature if you leave the headlights on after you shut the car off)

That's what I do as well. Works well and I have never had a problem with the battery being drained by this habit.

Why not just make a flow/scan for every time you get in the car? I work from left-right, checking every switch and indicator to make sure it's in the right place both in start up and shutdown. Takes a few seconds and you won't miss a thing!
