I've got a 2018 Accord hybrid. It has the walk away automatic locking. Very nice feature.

First 11 months, close the last door, car beeps letting me know all doors properly shut and it's going to lock if I walk away. Take a few steps away and it locks, beeps again, and blinks the turn signal lights.

Last week or so close doors, car beeps, take a few steps and car locks with the usual whump as they all lock, and that's it. No second beep and no blink of the turn signal lights.

So I took it to the dealer this morning and after 30-40 minutes get it back and they say it's fine. It wasn't an hour earlier when I stopped for breakfast along the way. Test it and yep, it's fine. But the radio didn't turn on until I held the button for a few seconds per it's instruction. And the left gauge wasn't set to anything and when I put it back on the mpg screen my mpg showed about 11mpg. So I'm pretty certain they disconnected the battery or something.

Anyone else have the walk away locking act funny?

I didn't try locking by touching the door handle. I didn't think of that. I didn't get the signal when I pressed the lock button on the fob. I never thought about turning it off/on either. I'll keep that in my pocket in case there's a next time. Thanks for your input.

Maybe one of the doors was not closed entirely. It will not give a door alarm warning in some cases but it will also not lock the doors.
I thought of that but it happened more than once and after checking the doors.

And now the new issue, yesterday we came out to the car and I used the fob to unlock the car. The front passenger door wouldn't unlock. I pressed the lock button on the fob and then unlock again and it still wouldn't unlock. I opened my door and used the armrest button and it still wouldn't unlock. We could hear the actuators thumping inside the doors with each lock/unlock action but that door remained locked. I reached across the car and flipped the lever and it unlocked. Then a couple of cycles and it locked/unlocked each time. It worked correctly since then.

I'm not taking it to the dealer unless it happens again. I don't trust getting the door put back together 100% after being taken all apart to get to the guts of the lock system.
