I dont have an exact measurment but its very close to a quart of oil every few weeks. Its an 03 2.4L iVetec with almost 90k miles on it. The inside of my exhaust tip has a some oil in it. What do you think the problem is?

First thing I would check is have PVC system checked, make sure value is working and hoses are not cracked and clear.

Does it show blue smoke when driving ?
if it smokes on acceleration its possible to be ring related, if it smokes on deceleration value guides/seals but first PVC needs checking.

you could also check spark plug color that would show if engine is burning oil badly (would give indication of which cylinder problem is in).
Make sure there no leaks, place a piece of cardboard under engine to see if anything shows.

I'd check the oil pan first around the drain plug. If the pan and surrounding area is covered in oil clean it up so you can visibly see if the leak is coming from there. There is a grommet that the drain plug fits into that needs to be changed every few oil changes. That part is only a couple dollars to replace. White smoke coming from your tail pipe is a sign that your actually burning oil.

Is their a diagram or a detailed description on what to check?
If you mean PVC system, I am not sure if a pdf on it is around.
the manual will have it, basically you check first the PVC value itself (in general its spring loaded one way value), thats its not gummed up and moves freely.

All hoses and grommets must be in good shape and clear to pass blow-bye gases. If you pinch the PVC hose to intake manifold you should hear it click sound.
Also if everything working you should get suction on the value cover hose (from value cover )going into value cover while engine idles. (thats were fresh air gets drawn in).

Only thing if you have MAF sensor and remove hose that goes into large intake hose(air-cleaner/MAF to throttle body) to see if suction is good from value cover , its possible it might make check engine light come on, I am not that familiar with newer Honda emission system but you could clear it and it goes out eventually after few restarts once it together right.

Best to have it check by mechanic if you don't see anything wrong right away. If its going out the exhaust its not good for oxygen and catalytic converter

What weight oil are you using? If your PCV (Positive Crankcase Ventilation) checks out and theres no signs of leakage, I'd maybe go to a heavier oil.

I'm not advocating 20W-50, but if you're running 5W-20 maybe 10W-30 would be better for your car. Using up to 1qt every thousand miles is considered "normal" to some.

Since the 2.4l is not known as an oil guzzler I would have it evaluated by a professional shop or dealer. That's assuming you plan to keep it for a while. Something is definitely amiss and it could be as simple as (mentioned above) a PCV valve that needs replacement or worse.....let's hope not.

Are you the original owner? What is the oil change/service history?

How does the car run? When you stop at a light do you smell anything unusual? Have you tried changing the PCV valve like another member suggested? (start with the cheap stuff first) If you have a trusted mechanic.. I would take it to have a compression test. Guess what, if it leaks air (compressed).. it will leak.. aka burn oil. You may then be able to narrow it to a troublesome cylinder. If you do not wish to pay for this, or trust someone to.. remove your spark plugs. They tell you how your car is running. Scroll down on this page and learn a little about what you are looking at.. or hell.. pull the plugs out.. and bring them to your computer to compare with the chart on this page.

Best of luck.
