I would go with WIX, my all-time favorite cabin air-filter for the Accord and they can be found at O'reillys parts dept!! :yes:

i got a fillter i forget what brand but it has like mildew and mold blockers, it was fairly cheap as well.

I like the Fram Fresh Breeze. Seem to do a good job keeping the junk out and the baking soda keeps the car smellin' sweet. The bet part is that they cost way less than the Honda replacements, which are IMO not nearly as good a product. They are available at almost any auto supply place that caries FRAM filters, but they may have to order them in. The website has a great tool for helping you determine the exact part number.

Haven't tried the Bosch. I'll have to check 'em out. Always open to new suggestions!

i replace my filter with the FRAM filter but when i turn on the AC it smells like sticky wet socks....

The smell doesn't come from the filter, it comes from the evaporator case.

I used this to remove the smell in my car's A/C:

I didn't say it HAD to be oem. But if you buy the oem filters you KNOW they're not gonna smell weird, or just have bad quality, b/c they're already in your car.

And oil filters, i stick with Honda, as well as the oil i get from the Honda Dealership. Its a HONDA car, i'm pretty sure Honda is going to know how to make the best filter for their specific oil they use for our cars.

As far as the air filter, i understand K&N is one of the best. It is a highly recommended high flow air filter brand. But do you you seriously need some "high performance" cabin air filters? There's no point in getting some filters that you don't even know if they are good quality or not, when you could just as easily get the oem ones that are MADE by Honda.

I'm just saying, some things are worth finding the best aftermarket part for, but seriously, its a cabin air filter. I think i'll just get the oem one and spend my time worrying about more important things.

To each and his own. If it makes you sleep better at night then that's money well spent.

1. I have honda air filter in my 2010 Honda Accord and the AC smells terrible. I replaced the filter at 10k with fram carbon and it never came back.

2. If you think honda actually makes their filter and fluid/oil then you might want to do more research.

3. i don't consider k&n to be the best or follow their hype. I stick with NAPA GOLD or purolator pureones.

Honda doesn't spec the best filter for their cars. They have them built by the lowest bidder that meets their specs. Currently that happens to be Honeywell. Honda oil is nothing special, it's a good quality oil but not really any better than any other modern oil that meets the API spec.

Honda also doesn't make any of their filters. They design the specs and have them made by other companies.

There isn't a "best." But there are some that are better than others.

For me, I look to see what's on sale and I stock up.

For oil, it's mainly been Pennzoil Platinum in the 5 qt jug (price range = Free - $21) and regular Pennzoil ($1/qt).

For oil filters, it's been either Purolator classic or PureOne filters due to the Purolator rebates or the oil specials (ex. buy 5 qts of reg. Pennzoil and get a free Purolator Classic oil filter).


A lot of people like Mobil1 and so do I, but I have yet to use it in my Accord because it's always been more than what I can get Pennzoil Platinum for, even when on sale. And the benefits of Mobil1 over Pennzoil Platinum, if any, don't justify the price difference for me.

A little bit after halfway through the video the guy takes apart a Honda filter and its absolute crap. It has paper seals on the ends.
I would've never guessed.

Im glad i opened my stupid mouth in here b/c i never would've looked into oil filters until now. And after watching that video it kinda looks like the K&N or the Bosch would be good brands to go with.
