Has anybody on this forum upgraded their camshaft on the 8th gen? I am not really thinking about doing this I am just curious.
I'm glad you got your answer, but do you ever bother searching for the availability of the part, not just on the forum, but for example google? I feel that when you ask questions, you just blurt it out w/o doing the heavy lifting (i.e. looking it up from another source). I bet you fudge your book reports too.Has anybody on this forum upgraded their camshaft on the 8th gen? I am not really thinking about doing this I am just curious.
yeah, and there's some stupid people too. In real world terms, fuel economy for the I4 and the V6 auto is about the same, according to these forums. When the OP was making his decision to buy a car, i will put my money down that he couldn't muster up the $$$ for the V6 because it can cost anywhere from 3 to 6 thousand dollars more. However, he has enough money to do little things here and there. W/e. I've said this before and i'll say it now, the particular 4cyl engine on the coupe is not really modifiable for at least another year or 2. Furthermore, in order to get decent performance gains that are done safely with longevity in mind will cost more than 6k, when the parts are available. So, just live with your decision or get another vehicle.Omg there is some real dicks on this forum...someone asks a question and then you flame him like no tomorrow.Maybe he likes a 4 over the 6.
op had it bought for him. http://www.driveaccord.net/forums/showthread.php?t=29423yeah, and there's some stupid people too. as of now, and for the rest of eternity, there is nothing you can do to make it noticeably faster without blowing through ass-loads of cash...my parents would not buy me a v6 for my first car, so I had yo get the i4. With my job I saved a little money I just wanted to add some stuff to it. Don't have to be a dick about it.
here's mine. go to college, get smart, get money, get a fast car by the time ur 25, which is totally where i'm at. i had an 06 GT that would turn ur sh!t white. unfortunately i got an even better job that requires 100+ miles driving per day, and this happened right around $4/gallon gas, so i opted for the V6 honda. Here's my suggestion:
Over the next year or so, save up enough cash (~$5000) and buy an old Nissan 240SX (S13, S14 or S15) with a MT and a bunch of miles on it. Seriously, this car is probably the most aftermarket supported of any car out there, so you won't have any problem finding stuff when the time comes. If you choose to buy it, it will be a great car to learn MT on, as well as some other driving techniques (I've heard it's the best car to learn to drift with). Then you'll have your Accord for casual driving, but if you got a need for speed, you can whip out your 240.
(240SX is just a suggestion. '95 Civic's are heavily aftermarket supported as well.)
