i'll have to try it out. i've been using Black Magic Tire Wet for years before most companies started bringing out a more gel based Tire Shine product like Tire Wet has been doing for years
i recently tried Meguiars Hot Shine in spray formula disappointing and actually found the Spray Can version to go on a lot easier and lasted a lot longer
it will sling itself off the tire and onto the paint the first time you drive the car.
a bit of Tire sling is gonna happen to everyone just starting off using a Tire Shine product and you'll be able to start eyeballing when enough product is on and whether to wipe any off
usually have 1 separate Terry Towel specifically for application or better yet, a sponge like this helps (new one i'm trying out, Kit was $15 bucks and liquid is actually black so hoping its some crazy long lasting shine):
to this day i still remember the story about a guy who bought a Brand New Tires for his IS300, thought the shine on his outside Tire wall looked so good, decided to Armor All the
ENTIRE tire, proceeded to drive off, and crashed due to not being able to brake properly w/shine all over his tread:

lesson: don't EVER armor all your Tire Treads

but think of this guy and hopefully smile while you do some Tire Care
I've always applied it with a sponge, and I don't let it drip at all. I never sprayed the stuff directly on the tire because I didn't want the stuff on the wheels or paint. So, I've never had a problem with the stuff flying off the tires. Spraying the stuff directly on the tire, without wiping the excess off, seems idiotic to me.:dunno:
are you talking about Tire Shine or more so have experience w/Tire cleaners?
most of the Tire sling is during Summer months w/Tire Shine products but i agree, a sponge is best but if your using a Terry Towel, your wasting more of the product if spraying onto the towel then applying to the tire rather than spraying directly onto tire and wiping
back in the day when Tire Care products were limited and Armor All products used to be king if you wanted the best shiny look (without spending a fortune), the best way would be to spray on a layer, wipe, then spray on another layer and kinda just let it sit for a while
the products available to us now are way more advanced and less complicated
I never really thought about detailing until I joined this forum... just washed and waxed with stuff I picked up at the auto store. I've never been one for the wet look, so Lexol rather than Armorall, etc and Meguiar's gold class.
I learn something new here every day.
yeah, i think i learn something new here everyday and always feels good knowing your helping out a fellow Accord owner when possible
ladies know, wet is best :naughty:
