Who cares what you think? He certainly didn't ask your approval.

I'm sure a lot of the opponents to this haven't even considered doing anything to their car, let alone an exhaust. I say this because a basic muffler delete does not raise your exhaust volume Iver 120 DB, even if you redline it everywhere you go. I understand about the noise pollution and all but a lot if y'all are exaggerating.

I unbolted one of the mufflers on my 1.5L and you still could barely hear it under 4k RPM. So yes, I can speak from experience

so i just want to put the exhuast tips from sport/touring on my 1.5 Ex-L. i dont want it to sound loud or anything. Just the tips. has anyone done it? or is it easy to do it?

Is it possible to add the chrome exhaust tips from the Sport/Touring to the EX-L? Are the slots where the tips would go on the EX-L bumper removable or would I have to replace the whole bumper?
They sell that convert kit on Ebay but the thing is non sport or touring has tip bent down so It looks weird if you convert it to Sport/Touring. They will look like this picture

In this case. I installed a dual exhaust tip and do a little bit custom on the exhaust finisher. Just my idea xD

I really like the tips. What are the specs and where can I get a pair?

I was thinking of getting a set of these.

Check my photos bro. My car is EX-L too. You need to custom the exhaust finisher cover to get rid of big GAP and bring to muffler shop to ask them to weld the exhaust tips for you. I paid 60$ for labor.

okay let me find your photos. If i am understanding it correctly you can buy the finishers and get the mufler shop to weld them with some modifications? Is that true?

Thanks

Is the Magnaflow #19393 Cat-Back 2.0T worth it?

What is the consensus here? Is the Magnaflow #19393 2.5" Cat-Back system for the 2018+ 2.0T worth getting considering the modest hp gains (~8HP) and deeper slightly louder sound? It's currently listed at MSRP $1302.39, Hottexhaust has it for $888.00. An hour of billable installation labor at ~$100/per or so brings the total to just under $1000.00 for a T409 SS mandrel bent cat-back system with T309 resonators and fasteners that comes with a limited lifetime manufacturers warranty.

I ask because I would like a slightly louder exhaust sound on my 2.0T that doesn't drone in the cabin or wake the neighbors in the morning but offers a nice deep sound when starting and offers a bit more feedback sound when under heavy acceleration. Power/torque increases, if any, would be an added bonus. This Magnaflow systems looks to check all the boxes unless there is an alternative system currently available.

Anyone running the Magnaflow #19393 kit as-is without changes to the resonators? How is it, and would you recommend it?

Thanks Ivory, say no more ;). I've used MF cat-back systems on two of my previous vehicles, both had fitment issues due to manufacturing flaws that took a lot longer than I hoped to get fixed. But the MF sound was deep and low, just horrible initial fitment. For now I'm going to hold off on this system.

In a perfect world, Borla would drop in and give us a full T304 system for the 2.0T (for way too much money) that would sound amazing and give us perfect fitment while doing away with fake 'finishers' and giving us quad tips!

Exhaust - Muffler and Tip options??

Hello
I’m not a big fan of my chrome exhaust finishers on my 2018 Sport 2.0t and have relegated myself to looking on eBay for either mufflers with tips and just tips alone to add on. Point is I don’t have the money for a cat back system but at the same time I want those finishers off and something else in its place. I just don’t know What can work?

There are a lot of mufflers on eBay with single tips and a 2.5” inlet. There are also 2.5” inlet sets of tips that I suppose can be welded onto end tailpipe after stock muffler. Problem I’m having is I want dual tips be it a muffler or just the tips themselves but every set up I’ve seen does not seem to work as our end pipes are staggered all the way over to the left of finisher.

I’m ready to buy a universal set of tips or mufflers with tips and just have an exhaust shop modify to make it work. If anyone is familiar with a set up that can work please let me know.

Sorry, haven't been following. Yes, I'd wait on this. If u didn't read my other posts, we took it down from the lift and I was so upset;
sounded like almost no change at all. To be honest, no mfg. problems, but I do notice that the muffler outlets don't line up with the
stock chrome exhaust outlets properly, which I guess doesn't matter. Another nice member said that MF made his without the resonator in the pipe towards the front, and that sounded perfect. I asked them if they could make for me (for a price, of course)--first, e-mail they didn't answer. Then, phone follow-up and was told NO. They will not sell any separate parts for this, just a system and that's that. When I first called, the guy on the phone said it should "break in" and get a little louder over 500-1000 miles. I guess it has a TINY TINY bit, but nothing like the other MFs I had on the other cars in past. I am so over this.
Why would anyone think that someone who buys an exhaust wants it to be totally quiet? I know it is an accord, not a type r, but only a certain type of person would buy an exhaust in first place...
I really can't afford to replace with Borla when that comes out. Might try a catless downpipe and maybe an airbox? Looking into Ktuner vs. Hondata also, first. But did owe taxes this year, so it's gonna be a bit.
Hoyglift, just wait & let's see how the Borla is for you!

Weep Holes Needed In The Mufflers?

Anyone need to drill weep holes in the mufflers on their cat-back systems? A previous vehicle I had with a Borla Cat-Back would build up water in the mufflers and per Borla needed two 1/8" holes drilled into the lower side of the mufflers near the exit tips in order to drain the excess water and reduce the possibility of the mufflers from rusting from the inside out. The water build up also affected the sound of the exhuast and made it noticeably quieter.

Curious if anyone has noticed water build-up in the mufflers of the Accord, whether factory or aftermarket mufflers? The first resonator after the down-pipe and catalytic convertor should get hot enough to not allow any water to accumulate, but the two mufflers may not get fully hot enough to burn off extra condensation. In the short time I've had this vehicle (less than 2000 miles) I've measured the outside temps of the mufflers after extended drives of 1-2 hours and have not seen temps above 65F (driving in 30-50F outside temps).

Anyone notice water coming out of the exhaust tips or find a need to add weep holes to the mufflers?

Does this help? We were amazed; it is like 3 big pieces welded. We couldn't even take the OEM exhaust home from the shop in our SUV... https://www.hondapartsnow.com/parts...om/parts-list/2018-honda-accord-4dr-20spt-ka-6mt/exhaust-pipe-muffler-2-0l.html

This is for ayejato -- way late -- or anyone else it might help.

Here is another interesting Q I was thinking about: is there really any efficiency need for a car like this
to split into two mufflers in the back, or is that just for looks?

It's 100% for looks, the exhaust manifold is a mono port and of course so is the turbo outlet. I'm sure people would complain though if there were a single 2.25"+ outlet as being ugly too.

True duals might be useful if there are two banks of cylinder heads, IE V4, V6, V8s. But then even Honda's old V6 merged both outlets into a single catalyst and resonator. So you could make the argument even on Honda's V6 the duals were just for looks too.

So I apologize for previous pics as It was quite overcast and such.... Carven Exhaust In Bound Brook did the work and they were quite clear with me stating that tips would not provide a 100% clean factory look but I wanted those finishers off. They had to do some modifications of those overhanging bumper pieces to get tips to fit better and they took the time for the best figment possible. Thumbs up to them for the work and honesty! Definitely check them out if your’re in central NJ.
