Hello everyone,
I've been having a couple of issue with my 08 accord coupe. First, I've been having issues with the oil consumption, read someone where in the forum that it could be the Spark plugs and or the Valve Cover Gasket - which im getting both replaced tomorrow. Yesterday, engine light came on with code P0420. I was told that it might be resolve by changing the spark plugs. Can it be?

Also, car has 82,000 - haven't done any maintenance other then oil changes and air and cabin filter. What maintenance should i do and should i be changing the type of oil since it has more miles now?

Thanks in advance

A p0420 code leads to O2 sensors or catalytic converters.
Which in terms could potentially by the spark plugs at fault. Your emissions warranty is out since you passed 80,000 miles.
Have someone look at the code in depth to find the cause of the DTC.

As far as mileage goes...
Recommended:
It may be seven years old soon.
Transmission Service (x2)
Coolant System Service.
Check &/or replace your outer drive belt.
Brake Fluid Flush
You could have the spark plugs changed if you'd like. They are rated for 100,000 miles.
If it's a 6cyl you could think about replacing the timing belt as well.
