So I am getting an alarm and remote start system for my car soon and I am stuck between the two alarm systems. I know they are like the exact same system, but which one would you prefer?

So I just got the Autopage C3 RS730 installed today and overall, it is a pretty nice system.
The only thing is, they put a DENT on my freaking hood!!!
I am going back in to talk to them about it and hopefully they help me out.

Why are you waiting for your warranty to be over?

and what do you mean by "get some"

I would get viper just because i think they have the best reputation.

They are the same. They are both made by Directed Electronics. Python, another Directed brand, has a version of this alarm too.

True that. I work at bestbuy. Take my word for it.

How do the size of the remotes compare?

They are probably pretty close to exactly the same size. You could call Directed and ask or go to shops that have each brand and measure, but any differences will probably be tiny. I voted other since I have the Python equivalent of the 5901 (991).

Well, I just came back from a local installer and for the Viper 5902, it will be $600 installed!! I was expecting it to be that much only for the system, but he gave me an awesome deal.

Nice! i have the 5901 installed, will prolly upgrade the remote to 5902 once i can find it for a little cheaper then $200...

Whats the real difference between them? I never understood why the parent company has two of the same products with different names.

which system has the better remote?

I guess people are saying that they are basically the same system. I'm just leaning towards the viper system because the remote looks a lot nicer. I've also heard great reviews from Viper.

Thats a good deal, they markup these starters a lot, the actual cost for the 5902 at this moment shouldnt be more than $275.

However with that said this is not something you want to DIY or even get done from a half-butt shop because they will mess up your car, the key is to get it done from a place who knows what they are doing and offer a lifetime warranty. If your shop has both these qualities, only then would i pay $600 for everything. Otherwise you'll be screwed because u didnt have a warranty or you'll be leaving your car there overnight all the time because you have a warrenty but they didnt install it right.

BTW, I'd go with the Viper, The new units are amazinG!

I don't know how big the clifford key fob is but the viper one is kinda big. I've convinced some of my slower friends that its a new cell phone

It's 11/16th of an inch thick, just over 2-3/4" long and just over an inch and a half wide.
