I recently made the mistake of buying a radio unit for my sedan that unknowingly came out of a coupe and now my mode selector switches don't work.
I've heard I would have to relocate the climate control resistor in order for me to get that function back, has anybody taken on this job and if so do you have a write up for the job. I'm pretty mechanically inclined so I'm willing to take anything on but I don't want to go in without a clue.

I just did this recently on a 7bx0.

The resistor is a surface mount 1k resistor, on the back side of the faceplate circuit board. You'll have to take the cd changer block and its brackets off the faceplate, and then the gray back cover off the top part of the faceplate to get to it. The silkscreen labels on the back of the board will tell you where the resistor goes (r20 for sedan, r102 for coupe for the 7bx0 - will likely be different for other faceplates).
