When I bought mine, the armrest on the door (same area) and the center armrest needed to be replaced. I got both from Honda. I used a 2010 center armrest for my 2009 coupe. This part was redesigned from the original and is $100 cheaper than the 2008-2009 lid. It fit perfectly. Hopefully it will last better.

where did you get the part?

Yes, it is a very common problem for the "leather" on both the door armrests as well as the center console armrest.....

I've replaced them in both of my 8th gen coupes...
I ordered the replacements both times from this same eBay seller...

He ships fast and the product is better than the OEM part, because it is real leather and OEM is not. And its $35 with free shipping. Can't imagine what NDAZone paid! Gosh! Save your money for beer, or cookies.

You should be able to get it installed for about $20 at a local shop, as I did.
I installed it myself the first time, and having little to no patience along with never doing any sort of fabric work before, it was less than perfect though it still turned out pretty good. I would recommend spending the $20 or so and take it to a shop to have them install the piece.

As the guy at the upholstery shop said...for him to make that piece, it would be a couple hours of work and EASILY $100++. Bring him the pre-cut piece and he'll install it for ya in 20 minutes and charge you just a few dollars for his time.
Same idea for seats....Ask a shop to make you new leather seats, they'll charge you a few grand....Bring them katskins or whatever and they'll charge you just a few dollars to install them. Stupidly obvious, I know, but its worth mentioning.

Thanks a ton for that link, did you take the armrest off yourself and take it to the shop? or did they do it for you? I have the entire panel off but cant reach two screws holding the armrest cover down.

I am in the same spot, can’t get at that last screw. Nothing on YouTube.

8thgenrevival, might you be referring to the center console?

I was referring to replacing the armrest on the driver's side door.

So, I was able to do the job myself, Bertoli516. If I could have had someone else do this for $100, I might have made that choice...but it wouldn't have been as satisfying as figuring out this DIY project.

I wish I had been in a head space to have recorded this repair, but I'll see if I can't help a little. For removing the door panel, I found the DIYHonda video on YouTube to be the most helpful:
. These following vids show armrest removals for accords, but not for the coupe, and the coupe is different. But here are the links, as they may be somewhat helpful:
and

As you may notice in these last two videos, they show that there are 5 screws holding the armrest to the back of the door panel. In the coupe, there are 6 screws, plus a couple clips, and 3 more screws holding the armrest to the "cup." A bit of clarification: if you look at the whole armrest on the door, it wraps around what I'm calling "the cup," and then there is a plastic panel that holds all of the switches for the windows, locks and mirrors, which I'm calling the "switch panel."The armrest, the cup, and the switch panel are all connected in the coupe. If you could access the three screws holding the armrest to the cup, you'd be golden. Perhaps an offset ratcheted screwdriver, referenced below, might do the trick? But at the time, I didn't know what that was, much less have one! So, without that, you have loosen the whole piece that goes under the large door handle (not the latch, but the long piece sweeping from the top of the door to below the armrest. Don't even bother removing any of the screws from the cup until you remove all of the 6 screws and push the tabs of the clips through the door panel to get that whole piece (armrest, cup, and switch panel) to pivot and swing away from the inside of the door handle. I was never able to get the whole thing free, there was something still holding it right under the door handle. However, I discovered that once I got the side closest to the door tilted away from the door enough, it was much easier to get access to those three screws attached to the cup. Still, I needed an offset phillips head screw driver (thank you, Jeremy!) with a 90 degree bend in it to get at two of the screws (a regular phillips head did the trick for the other). A set of ultra low profile ratcheting screwdrivers would make this job a lot easier - maybe you could get at those cup screws without removing the rest? I don't know.

Anyway, that's what I've got for anyone who's trying this. I was able to take a couple of pics and some crappy phone video, but who knows when I'll have time to post any of that.

Oh, and I got the armrest here: Front Left Door Panel Armrest Black Cover Fit For HONDA Accord 08-12 Coupe 2Door | eBay
If fit FAIRLY well, not perfect. It took a little pushing and squeezing to get all of the pieces aligned to get the screws in, but I was able to get all of the screws in, and it looks great!
Good luck to you all! Happy to find a group of accord fanatics out there.
