I've seen a few comments here and there from CVT owners stating that they hear a whinning/buzzing noise after a bit a spirited driving. Here's what mine sounds like...almost identically.

This only happens after after 15-20 minutes of spirited driving in moderate temps (80-90 degrees), never seemed to happen during the colder months. I'm assuming this is typical of the transmission, but also curious if it could be a solenoid or perhaps oil issue.

Anyone else have similar symptoms?

The sound doesn't sound overly concerning to me... you should hear the whine my 8th gen makes in 4th gear.... can barely hear the radio.

Haha, yikes. Mine was never audible until recently, hence my concern. I have my 10k service appointment next week so I suppose I could have the dealership take a look.

Sounds good, they should check your CVT fluid condition too.

Listen from about 35 seconds in. Very annoying especially during summer months or hotter ambient temps.

I had a similar noise in my car. Was related to a power steering reservoir. They replaced with an updated part, no more noise.
