Hi. I have a 1993 Honda Accord ULX 140XXX and on the dash...the gear selection panel...the D4 light stays on. Well in the manual it says it serves as a second fuction about the transmission. We just bought it...it ran fine with a little jerking with the transmission..but not much...so my husband changed the AT Fluid. After that it started to have the light come and stay on. I took it in and when i went to pick it up i had to manually shift it. MAD IS WAS lol Then i took it back in the next day and he replaced the back up radio fuse and it started to work fine. like it reset it. next day it started doing the same thing...so we took out the fuse and works fine, except sometimes....we hear a clicking some under the dash and by the shifter. what could it be? the AT control unit...i dont know what to do...how much do the dealers charge for the diagnosics? how do i check the flashing codes myself? HELP

Since it is an older vehicle with older computer diagnostics, you might want to seek out a good shop to deal with it.

The dealer would be ideal, as who knows, you may get assistance from Honda at those low miles. Their diagnostic time is usually 90-100 an hour (will probably only take an hour) and you can use that toward any repair.

Otherwise, a shop like cottman transmission or other transmission specialist might be the way to go. http://www.cottman.com/

If you jumper the test connector under the pass side dash, should be a blue plug. Turn the ignition to ON. Count the flashes of the D4 light. Post back with your results.
