Oh my! I can't imagine how this would turn out. My father-in-law owns a tire shop and they put the cars on a machine and adjust things that way. I mean I get it...hmmmm would maybe have my husband try since he can do all sorts of car work.
DIY alignment is possible. That's not a very good method. Proper DIY alignment is called "string alignment". You need to be able to make very fine measurements with a ruler/tape to get the strings perfectly parallel with the center line of the car. Here's a good vid on how to do a proper string alignment. One thing he doesn't mention is that the strings need to be the same distance apart front and rear so they form a rectangle.
