Hello guys. I am new to this forum and I couldn't help but feel thar there isn't enough options to improve my car. Upon searching the Web, I ran across an RV6 Acura TL true dual system. I am looking to build my own true dual system for my 2014 Accord Coupe V6. Has anyone tried this yet? Any heads up before I start my blueprints and measuring?

There's been a thread about that couple days ago.

Consensus is: Don't do that it will sound like a lawnmower

The one that sounds like a lawnmower was probably poorly put together. i.e. non-equal length tubing, horrible merges, cheap mufflers, no cross-pipe, etc.

I don't see why anyone (w/ a V6) couldn't do a true dual exhaust that sounded good unless they ran into space limitations.

It is possible/doable if you bring it to a good shop that does custom work.

Performance wise, I don't think it's worth it.

Here is a video of the dual exhaust RV6 created for the 3rd Gen TL. Apparently there are some extra mods on those though.

Done right it will sound amazing. Do it wrong and it will sound terrible.

Yeah, that's pretty bad. I know for sure that I need the x-pipe. I plan to run 2.25" pipes to X then following back to an X pipe resonator ending with a 2.25" inlet to a 3" outlet. I'll probably have to run a high flow cat from magnaflow or do an oxygen sensor input on the X pipe. I'm worried that this will baffle too much need aggressive tones though.

Borla's bolt on exhaust sounds good.

Yea exhaust are more for sound and looks. If you want to turn heads you need to do something special.
Well, the main reason is to try to hit a more aggressive tone in the lower rpms and hopefully keep it roaring in the higher.

True, it sounds quite agresaive, but I want to invest in a true dual system. I'm the kind of guy who likes to have a one of a kind on the road. So if everyone's sporting Borla's and Takeda's. I don't want to be just another copy.

No offense, but you drive an Accord, one of the most common cars driven today.

Yes, but there are Accords and then there are Accords. A few well chosen mods and you have a one off even if non Accord people will not notice.

No offense taken. Mainly, I don't care what Accord owner "A" or "B" think about my car. The thing is, I can't be happy with my car, knowing that someone else has the exact same parts as me. Call me crazy, but I think a lot of people feel the same way when they start building their car. For instance, everyone likes fudge with their ice cream, I decided to put m&m's instead.

Well, I guess I what I want to say is: who doesn't want a little individuality? In my case, I want more than most people.

Only way to do it and have the possibility of not sounding like you riced it out is to stick with the stock piping size or up it a .25in run an x pipe with resonators on both pipes plus a well made muffler like a universal borla, magnaflow, takeda, flowmaster at the end to finish it. It wont be crazy loud, and it wont have that raspy, lawn mower that typical hondas with straights do. The resonators will keep the drone and the rasp down. Where as keeping stock pipe size is fine since you can already hear quite a bit of the exhaust.

This guy did it horribly wrong. Pipes are way too big so not really much performance, probably lost a bit of power in all honesty, also had nothing to mellow out the tone of the exhaust hence why it sounds like a lawn mower

Total waste of time and money.
Why not buy an Accord exhaust finisher and attach it to a short piece of pipe. Then have a muffler shop install a hanger and your car will look like it has dual pipes and sound exactly the same as it does now. It will just look like a V6.
