Mines just literally tore f while driving. 2010 accord 126k v6

Do I need it or can I save some money?

Our 2010 Accord doesn't have it. Should only affect aero slightly.

The splash shield can help slow weathering on the underside of the engine bay. Although it's a largely open environment, an engine bay is actually "fairly" dry even when driving through the rain, and the splash shield helps to it keep that way. Keeping as much water from the engine bay components as possible can help prevent water damage or intrusion due to aging parts, incorrect installation, etc.
