Hello all.
Got an interesting question for you all that I hope you can help me with. My rear driver's side door lock actuator on my 94 Accord Station Wagon EX has started making a loud buzzing sound when I lock my car doors (whether using remote or door button) I asked on Craig's List if anyone had a used part for sale and if they knew how to install it and for price quotes. I got an email from a person who claimed they knew how to take the actuator out, repair it, and put it back in and they would do it for $75. (Considering I'd had the driver's side actuator replaced 6 months earlier and only paid $50 for both the used part and the labor, I wasn't impressed with the offer for $75. but if there is an option where it is repairable, I'd love to know it.)

So my question is, has anyone on this forum heard of repairing the acutator or has anyone actually repaired their door lock actuator themselves and are there any pdf files that you can send me as to how to do it if it can be done?

I'd sure appreciate any input on this subject....THANKS MUCH!!

Janet

When we had our 95 Odyssey, the door actuators were doing the same thing. The Odyssey Club forums had many people who changed these out themselves. The hardest part was taking the door panel off to get to them.

You can try looking there -

We got rid of it before I actually had to replace them.

Good luck.

Tried the link but could not get anywhere - it just went to the main forum page. Eyeballing it didn't help and a search of the site using the end part of the link did not bring up anything at all either. Can you send me a more specific link please - thanks.
