Hey guys, i'm brand new here, and i have a situation.
I bought a 2009 accord from a friend. The used car dealer he bought it from only gave him the valet key when he purchased it, limiting a lot of things, I fear.
Upon picking it up to drive it home, i had to charge the battery because it had been dead for a week or so. The positive battery cable was corroded really bad and the terminal broke in two. I replaced the terminal and cut the cable back as far as possible and eventually got it running well enough to drive the 5 minutes home. I drove it to one auto parts store the following day to look for a part, no issues. I left there and went to another parts store...when I came back out 20 minutes later, I couldn't unlock the door. The 2 employees used a slim jim to get me in it, but the alarm went off as soon as the door opened . Finally ended up taking the horn fuse out. I have to admit-- I did make the mistake of attempting the navi and audio pins several times, but i don't think it was 10 or more--I wondered if this doorlock and the way it's behaving might have something to do with the antitheft...? The next day, I emailed Honda and got the pin numbers to navi and audio and entered them, hoping to fix the door lock, but no. Today, the battery was dead, so I'm going through this crap again.
Has anyone else had similar issues and if so, how did you fix it? I do not have the money to take it to Honda...
