Hi peeps, new to hear with my Mom's 2.4L Accord that had its cat cut out wile parked on the street in CA.
I had a cheap ebay universal cat/kit welded in but it throws an MIL: Trouble Code - P0420 Catalyst System Efficiency Below Threshold, (also evap system not passed my scanner smog pre-test - but I'll save that for another thread).

I see a Magnaflow 408035 Catalytic Converter Oval 2.25" In/Out California CARB OBDII for $400 on ebay - will that pass smog does anybody know? I measured 1.75" od exhaust pipe, is that correct?
Anything cheaper?
Thanks

Contact Magnaflow via their website, and ask them. Magnaflow sells that 408035 item for less than $400. I would not get a "universal" fit item. There's not a lot of room under any Honda I've worked on where it comes to catalytic converter fitment.

I've managed to purchase quality federally compliant catalytic converters (by Walker) on ebay, but man, you have to do your homework.

None of these are cheap. Wish I had a better answer.

You need to verify what you are looking for with the sticker for the emissions system under the hood. That is the Vehicle Emission Control Information label . It will have all the information you need to get a CARB catalytic converter.
