Glad I found this post. Last night I replaced an HID bulb that was dead (please no gripes about HID kits on the car). Once I finished replacing both bulbs and checking they were working, I started my car just to make sure everything was fine. No issues.

I just received the FCW system failure message this morning when I started my car. The tire pressure light, vehicle skid light, ABS light were also on. I shut down the car, waited 1 minute and restarted. The FCW system failure message appeared again. I shut down the car a second time and waited 2 minutes. Car started with no errors. I'll have to check all the fuses later today.

I have an Alpine head unit installed in the lower pocket area with a direct fuse connection for it and two JL Audio amps 500/1 and 300/4, front and rear speakers and subwoofer enclosure. I'm running 4 gauge power wire and separate grounds for each amp. Never any electrical issues for the past 4 years owning my car. All regularly scheduled maintenance has been done. So the only modifications that would impact electrical are the HID kit and car stereo. Hoping this error doesn't return.

All dash lights light up with FCW failure message

Have you had any more issues with this? We had it happen on a 2013 Honda Accord EXL-V6 about a month ago. Honda dealership said it was the VSA modulator and replaced it. Two days ago it happened again and after driving it a while it turned off. It only has 75,000 miles on it. We have a 2000 Honda Accord with 213,000 and have never had this at this mileage. We had just bought this 2013 used from the dealership this past April. We are really concerned about this issue ever being fully fixed.

Are you running on stock alternator or did you upgrade to a high output one?

FCW Failure Message/Christmas Tree Lights

I just recently had this happen to my '15 Accord EX-L with the FCW failure message/LDW message and all the lights coming on in the dash. Additionally, intermittently (every 3-4 minutes), the car would stumble/hesitate while driving and when I let off the gas for a second, it would be fine (at least for 3-4 minutes). Thought it might be a low voltage condition so I changed the battery (it was 3+ years old anyway), but nothing's changed. Autozone read the codes and it had some for the manifold pressure sensor so I just took it to the dealer. I'll let you know what they find out.

Karlobass, I had this happened yesterday on my 15 accord exl and the codes I was getting were for the manifold air pressure sensor when i got it scanned at Autozone. I wonder if this will be similar to your solution?

Hi Yall.

The exact same problem occurred today for the 3rd time in 2weeks but my brake pedal bounced a few times like the abs was ?testing.

I'm waiting to hear what the dealer has to say.

Have there been any updates?
Just an observation. All those lights could be caused by a speed sensor. Check for error codes?

Reading through this thread reminds me of a similar issue with my 16 touring where all the dash warning lights come on and the cruise control stops working.
I noticed it only happens when I drive on bumpy roads on my 19 summer tires.
Now that I am on my 17" winter tires, this has not happened.

I figured it was a loose connection somewhere because it only happened on bumpy roads.
I noticed that the LDW lights also flashed a couple of times before the whole system crashed.

I tried a test of turning off the LDW and guess what? The issue was corrected! The lights never came on again!
I could drive it like this for now but feel cheated that I am paying for a feature that I cannot use.

What do you guys think could be the loose thing?

Could it be a wheel speed sensor?

I’m being told that my VSA modular is malfunctioning and it will need to be replaced for $1200. It’s the silver thing under the hood that’s shaped like a camera. My warranty expired this year. Oh well! Not sure when I will replace it

Has anyone here completely figured why their “FCW Failure” situation happened? So far so good for me I think I may have. If you ever have this problem after the date of this post have your Honda dealer look into your “TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM MODULE “ now my terminology may not be exact but if you need absolute certainty what has fixed my issue i will gladly call the dealer that has fixed my issue and have them search my records for the exact term of the part, but I do know that what they done toncorrect the problem is associated with the traction control system so just give me a shout and we’lI get it figured out. I hope this helps.
Hey man what was your issue been dealing with this for over a month

What ended up being the cause of the problem? What was the solution?

my dash lit up like a christmas tree today when i went to leave work, car ran fine. i shut it off and started again when i went to the store and all was normal. it really makes me not want to trust the car.....

I have a similar feature on my 2014 Honda Accord. Here is what I was told by my Honda technician. What is causing the fcw system to fail is a bad ABS modulator. Once this goes bad it triggers the fcw failure. This is a very expensive repair and it sucks.

Any system dependant on the ABS system will not work if the ABS system has an error. All the warnings are just to notify you that those systems are not available. You need the codes from the ABS system to determine the failure. You are correct, replacing the ABS pump and electronics for a new part is expensive. There are companies that specializes in repairing those units OR you can get one from a salvaged car.

Would this issue cause the car not to start?
I'm getting a 61-11 code "modulator'control unit power source circuit (IG) low voltage"
My car won't start any help is appreciated. The car is a 2013 accord coupe v6 exl.

Sounds like either a battery or a starter

The FCW has nothing to do with the car starting. The code you got indicates low voltage. I would check the battery and the connections very carefully. I recommend this tool to anyone, a Solar BA9 to test the electrical system. It is about $50 on Amazon and will more than pay for itself by simplifying battery, alternator, starter troubleshooting. You will know the condition of your battery and some great information on the starter and alternator.

BTW that code does not clear, so it could have been set a long time ago. It is almost always a low battery condition.

There has been cases of low batteries causing the FCW , steering, and a few other warning lights to come on. Normally it is after the doors have been opened for a long time or playing the radio for an hour on accessory.

Is this an automatic or manual transmission?
