I've had a lite, metalic rattle in my 2009 lx-s 5mt engine since I bought it back in October of '08. Now that I've been laid off (anybody need a computer operator?) I have time to take it to dealership. It only occured at high rmps (6000+) so I thought it was a loose valve. The techs there determined it was the tensioner for the alternator belt. The replaced the tensioner and the belt, and the rattles gone! after two years! I guess I've been lucky, that and my battery were the only problems I've had with it. And they finally replaced my battery at the same time. It failed the "cca" test. Everything was done under warranty, so it only cost me time and driving out there.
