whats up brothers !!!
just did a full brake bleeding on my baby in this really cold morning here in new york city with the help of my wife
it is the first time im doing this , thank god it went alright
bought my 2009 accord ex about a year and half ago with 53k , now it has 70k
since i joined this forum ive been wanting to work on my car my self thanks to all of you !
so i checked my brake fluid last month and it was dirty so i figured the last owner didnt change it so i was long overdue, i know you are suppose to change it every 3 years
so here are some pictures
it was freezing 18 degrees here in nyc lol
thanks to all of you !!!!
since i dont have a garage i did it in front of my house

did it as the manual states , but i wouldve prefer to have a vacuum lol

i decided to do a comparison to show you brothers
the only containers i have are corona empty bottles from yesterday since we got drunk as hell
so i poured some clean brake fluid on the left bottle and on the right one its all the dirty fluid i got today
ol:biggrin:

Renzo, my hat is off to you man for 2 reasons:

  1. You were able to make your fingers move in this weather
  2. your wife went along with this madness

Be careful, plastic gets brittle in the cold.

Good job!

I think I need to get this done for my car as well.

How many quarts of brake fluid did it take for the whole job?

Yep I know mine looks like that too. I want to do it but it's even colder here. Unless we get some mild weather, I'm going to have to wait till spring. At least you didn't have any snow to contend with.

3? I only use 1 bottle of brake fluid for all 4 wheels, 10 pumps of the pedal for each wheel. I only needed 2 to completely change the brake fluid to a different brand.

It's all good. I think I have more than 3 quarts anyway (I have a bad habit of stocking up Honda fluids lol :D) so I'll bring 3 just in case. Thanks guys.

Brake bleeding is not much more difficult than changing your oil. My Brake Bleed Kit

Just be very careful to not spill brake fluid on paint.

What? 3 quarts???? You're not changing engine oil here.

I'd be surprised if your answer was a full PINT.

I'll double check the manual but I've NEVER refilled the reservoir more than 3-4 times doing a brake bleed of all four wheels. The rears use more as theres more line to get back there. Fronts almost nothing.

That fluid was really dirty!
