I was doing some work on my 01 sedan this afternoon, and in the process of putting the right front wheel back on I noticed a grease slick on the inside of the rim. Further investigation yielded up a failed lower ball joint. No WONDER it's started making those weird clicking noises going over speedbumps! I'm now vaguely distrustful of the omnipresent Moog ball joints, regardless of how nice and affordable they are. Any other recommendations? OEM Honda part? Something else? Mevotech? Dorman? Specialty Products? Proforged? ?

It’s hard to beat oem Honda. Even though they may cost more they last a very long time.

Mevotech is fine. That's the brand we used at an independent shop I worked at. You should replace your ball joints in pairs. I would also look at upper/lower control arms & bushings, radius rod bushings, away bar bushings, and inner/outer tie rods while you're in there.
