I have not seen this "problem" in my searches on DA.

The gas door on my 2004 won't stay fully open when I have the gas filler cap hanging from the door.

Is this the sign of a bad door spring? I can't recall if the gas door stayed fully open before, but it seems to more easily swing on its hinges than I remember. When filling up these days, I would much rather not have the inner end of the gas filler cap touching the paint below the door, as it does now, so that is why I am asking if there is a door spring that needs to be examined on mine. :dunno:

I can take a photo the next time I get gas.

Thanks for your advice.

It's not as bad as a broken toggle for the gas door, but at least I can still open and close it as needed. It stays fully open as long as the gas filler nozzle isn't hanging from the door.
