The manual says to use Honda fluid; would using GM fluid in a 2009 6/6 be grounds to void the extended warranty?

Just asking as I did use GM at 45k and again at 90k.

Your 09 6 speed has 3rd gear grinding issues? Or is it just notchy? I only ask because the TSB I saw said the issue was resolved after 08...

I have an 06 6 speed with 38k, I changed the tranny fluid about 10k ago with honda mtf and it felt a little better for a while but now its back to being extremely notchy, maybe even worse on cold days. it was 80 today in NH and shifting felt much smoother.. did you have good results with the GM fluid? Im thinking about doing another drain/fill and trying the GM stuff.. I do want to note I dont have any grinding yet, but sometimes it feels like it wants to!

I had an 03 rsx-s before this car and 3rd would grind everytime i shifted into it, my accord is starting to feel like its in the early stages of doing this, since im out of my warranty period im hoping the GM fluid will help bring back the buttery smooth shifts I love!

The techs aren't CSI so if you had a transmission issue just put Honda fluid in before you take it in. :paranoid:

isn't it the same color? I don't know about the new formula so forgive me. Not 100% if they are going to send out the oil to a lab to see if its honda or not, but just stay quiet if they ask and tell them that its OEM Or you can just do what cdseven said and put in some honda stuff.

As long as the fluid meets or exceeds the minimum specs set by Honda, they can not require you to use a particular brand of fluid as a stipulation for warranty coverage legally.
