kinda funny...I'm new to the site you guys are awesome! I'm a wannabe backyard mechanic..I'm doin alright so far! You great mechanics can laugh at me... I was told to grease my fittings... Steering has been squealing and becoming stiffer..so I get to the store for some moly grease and I realized I'm going to need a grease gun...but I don't have that money atm.... Haha could i use q tips n tiny tools or can I make a little grease gun? Tight on money obviously and its my a to b ...that's what ya get for trying to teach yourself hahha I learned though.

Save your money and do it right the first time.

Ask friends if they have a grease gun you can borrow.

Yes and no. You can use different applicator tools to lubricate open joints.

You will need a grease gun to pump grease into serviceable ball joints, tie rods, Pitman arms, etc. The nozzle of a grease gun attaches to a grease fitting and allows you to pump grease into these places.

Do you have a Harbor Freight store near you? You can pick up grease guns below $20.

Quality can be hit or miss, but if you're not wrenching for a living, I'm sure it'd work.

Not sure what vehicle you want to grease, but Hondas have not been built with any grease fittings for a long time. Now some replacement parts for Honda have grease fittings, so take a look first.

Can you probably get away with not using a grease gun, but you will need something that fits over the grease gun fitting tight. From there you will need to attach something like a big plastic syringe. Fill the big plastic syringe (maybe a cooking tool), with your grease and see if you can push it into the fitting.

Otherwise maybe try getting some Spray Wax Lube. Usually used on motorcycles. It comes out of the can as a liquid, but then gets really tacky and thickens up. That way it can get into the joints when its thin enough, but when you use it, it will stay in place.
