This is a copy of a post from a local site I am on. The poster works for honda and copied this from the Honda network. He claims there is known 3 rd gear problems with 7th and 8th gen Accords. You be the judge. I know my 3rd gear acts funny sometimes but it is a very intermitant problem.

right from hondas IN network-

Is Hard to Shift Into 3rd Gear

PROBABLE CAUSE
The transmission has a faulty 3rd gear synchronizer or

That got posted a few weeks ago...

not only are there three threads about it...... it's also NOT a recall. it's simply a TSB telling dealers what to do IF someone complains about this condition.

^^ that is correct. I dont have a 3rd gear problem with my 07 si and mind you that I redline that B%^CTH everytime I drive it !!!

I read on another forum that it is a 3rd gear recall for 7th and 8th gen accords and civics. I have also read on multiple forums about people having this same issues on 6 speed manual trannies in Accords, Civics, and S2000's.

Not a recall but gives the owners who have had problems a avenue to get thier trannys fixed.

I have had minor issues with my 6 Speed. It is hard to get into 3rd sometimes (rarely) before the car warms up. It doesnt happen all the time but it is annoying when it happens, caught my attention when I read about this. My brakes also just recently started with the loud whine at low speeds (4000 miles on the car bought it 11/07). I have read the brake noise is a common problem also. My dealer says they havent heard of the issue and that the rotors are probably glazed over, Im not sure if I believe them, based on numerous similar reports on different forums.
