I don't touch the wiring. As near as I can tell, I pushed the panic alarm by accident, could not turn it off with the fob and put the key in the ignition which turned off the alarm. I may have hit various combinations of buttons, but no wiring. What is 'something'?

The passenger side sticks... I will have to check and make sure that it is in the down position and see if that helps. Will check the others in the morning. What's odd to me is that the panic stopped by inserting the key into the ignition... I will have to try it, but with mine, if you were to try and start it when the system was armed, the alarm would go off, not off, even if the car acknowledged the key and started up.
Make sure all your door locks are in working order, if they are sticking up or down that can effect if the system honks when you press lock twice or arms.
If you lock the door by pressing the lock button the drivers door, the closing the door, the security light on the drivers door should blink once the door is closed. That blink means its armed.
If you lock the door with the key, same thing.
If you lock the door with the remote, same thing. Though, on my car, the rear door lock sometimes sticks so I end up having to press lock 2-3 times before it honks and arms.
It will probably work fine once his passenger door lock is acutally locked. It almost sounds like its in a "valet" mode but only the accessory alarm has that.
Just for poops and giggles, set off the panic alarm again. But this time, use the remote to stop it. Maybe that will reset it? :dunno:
Speaking of reseting, maybe disconnecting the battery for a few minutes will help. Again, another guess but resetting often works for other maladies.
Nope. It is not arming and locking the door with the key (which does work, even though the automatic lock does not on it) does not seem to help.It will probably work fine once his passenger door lock is acutally locked.
