I had an aftermarket remote starter installed and it was acting up - causing the doors to lock on their own.
The shop said it's the Hood Switch that's causing the problem, tripping the security system, etc... Once it was disconnected, it doesn't happen anymore but the Honda alarm now doesn't arm since the hood sensor is disconnected.
I called the dealer and they want almost $400 to replace it ("I'ts a pain, you gotta take the bumper off, replace the latch, bla bla"). I took a apart the hood latch and cleaned the sensor but as far as replacing it, anyone ever done it? I think it's around $50 to buy a new one but running it to the relay box may be the biggest pain. I couldn't tell (was getting dark so i wrapped it up) whether the sensor was bolted on or soldered onto the hood latch mechanism.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
