Hi everyone,

I recently purchased a honda accord 2013. However, it had mud guards installed by the dealer on them. Can anyone please provide advice as to how to remove them, and if there are any issues that can result from not having them anymore? I know there will be holes from the nails drilled on to put them in place, but will they be terribly visible and will the exposed holes be a problem for my car? I would appreciate any feedback. Thanks!

Here's a PDF for the installation of the guards on a 2013 Accord 4 door by Bernardi Parts. Perhaps it can assist you in figuring out the removal process.

Welcome to the forum and enjoy your new drive. Why do you want to remove them? They do keep some of the dirt off the lower bodywork. Hondas originally came with the front ones standard because of the front wheel drive. Now some of the dealers just install them when the car arrives on their lot and increase the price of the car so that they can reduce the price and give them away.

I think the car looks great with or without the mud guards. Of course in his opinion the car looks better, or runs better, or something else. Everything including why purchase or modify a car is a subjective opinion. I just thought he had another reason that might be objective.

I'm thinking about getting them.... I hate the dirt/grime/tireshine that gets on the car without them.
Just don't purchase them from the dealer. You can find them cheaper at places like:

College Hills Honda - http://www.collegehillshonda.com/product/08P00-T2A-101.html

Bernardi Parts - http://www.bernardiparts.com/Honda-Splash-Guards-Accord-Sedan-Hybrid__08P00-T2A-100.aspx

Honda Wholesale Direct - http://www.accessories-honda.com/honda-accord-2013-2014-sedan-exterior-splash-guard-p-1325.html

Here's a PDF link on the installation process:

Thank you everyone for the feedback. Personally I do not like any modifications to the car, except for tint. Hence the reason why I want to remove them. I will decide what to do with them and respond to those that are interested in buying them if i sell soon.
