So I recently I got a 2007 honda accord sedan and it's been in my family all it's life and we kept everything mechanically maintained, however I don't think this car has ever had the carpet and seats cleaned other than a quick vacuum. The seats and carpets are like 5 different shades of beige due to all the dirt and mud that has been tracked in for 7 years and 125,000 miles. From what I am describing it sounds a little worse than it is but I would like to fully detail the interior of my car next week and I want to know the best way. I have a wet/dry vac I just don't know what to use to scrub everything. If you have any recommendations on what formulas and sprays to use it would be much appreciated. Also I am not against taking off the seats and using multiple different kinds of sprays.

For deep stains, use a steam cleaner and a good shampoo. If they don't fully come out after a deep clean, follow up with a cleaner of your choice (I like Tuff Stuff) and it should come out alright. Tuff Stuff comes in a yellow can and is pretty cheap (like $3 at Wal-Mart) and works on all different kinds of surfaces.

I used rug doctor steam cleaners before, and in my experience it's the only way to get the deep down dirt. You do have to let the seats and carpet dry afterwards. I've since bought my own Bissell steam cleaner with the upholstery attachment. If just doing small spots Resolve carpet cleaner works for me.

I use a handheld steamer to remove dirt, dried salt, and coffee stains. Loosen it up with the steamer and then use a clean microfiber cloth to rub it out. I suggest opening all of the windows (Sunroof too, if you have one) to allow the steam to exit the car and not fog up your windshield. it's annoying at night when other car's headlights are shining on your glass but it should go away after a week.
