Since LEDs take a lot less power, the computer thinks the bulb burned out. You can either live with it, or get some resistors in the line to trick the computer. Check out v-leds.com for resistors, etc.

or just go to radioshack and get 1k resistors and put it on the "+" side for a dollar...

kinda lazy to do a resistor calculation.... 1k resistor with how many watt rating? anyone else who can confirm?
 
To turn DRLs off? I don't think it is...DRLs are just added safety features. Emphasis on added and not required.
Could be wrong.
 
DRLs are mandatory. But think he misread, OP is talking about the DRL light on the dash not the actual DRL
 
Clarification time:

DRLs are NOT - I repeat NOT - required in the USA.

They are required in Canada, and have been for about 20 years.
