After deciding to pass on the '05 and wait for the '06 I4 EX-L, I have begun to search the net to find a picture and I mean any picture of the '06! I am hoping that Honda decides to pump a little machismo into the Accord! I am happy with my '03 I4 EX-L but I want more!!!

When does anyone think official pics will be made public? IMO Honda should release pics. now to build the hype and have the public lined up to buy one of them bad boys!

I hope the pricing doesn't jump too much because the current pricing is incredible for the value you get!

Well, we did buy 3 new Hondas in 3 years..... we skipped last year..... :lmao: I'm really not ready to trade in..... but if there's enough new stuff..... :dunno: never know!

This Accord has even less miles than the '02 did at 22 months! I'm at 9K now.

Princess, I finally found someone that puts less miles on their Honda than my wife!!! When we traded her '02 Ody she had 23,000 in 36 months. 9K in 22 months is amazing.

She is at the HIGH end of the 9K! (I just looked) I feel like I'm always on the go & she's done several trips to Disneyland....425 miles away. I'll be doing LOTS of driving before our trip in Sept. so I'll likely add a few K. So by Sept. She'll probably be at about 15K!! (If we also get another trip to DL in....the next PLANNED one is Oct.)

I think that's really it. I'm not 100% positive but here are a few things I saw that gave me the impression that this is the next Accord...or Avalon competitor maybe?

1) Dual tailpipes look like the ones from the Coupe V6's
2) Lip at the bottom of the rear bumper
3) Overall bumper design seems to follow the new Odyssey
4) License plate frame and trunk lid crease reminiscent of the Civic Si concept and the current Accord Coupe
5) Hump in the center of the dash, looks like current Accord/Acura(?) dashes
6) C-Pillar is blurry but windows looks lifted straight from the current sedan

Just food for thought. If it's not the Accord it wouldn't be the first time that I'm wrong haha. We saw a photoshopped picture of the '05 Odyssey back in 02 or 03 and we all thought "NO WAY." And then when the real thing came out, it looked exactly the same as the "fake picture."

I've read various rumors on other forums about new features for the 06 Accord (some seem very plausible) and they include:

VSA (Vehicle Stability Assist) - which would be a logical new addition to the Accord especially since the Camry, Altima and 06 Sonata (standard on all models) already have this important safety feature.

LED taillamps - another good bet since it's the safety/styling trend in the automotive industry, given its improved illumination.

Sportshift transmission - possible (there were also some rumors about a 6-spd automatic or CVT, but I find that highly unlikely until the 8th gen)

HID (xenon) headlights - possible, especially with the upcoming 07 Camry getting them (as well as the 06 Passat).

Other new features I've read about include automatic headlights, auto doorlocks (I'm not sure if I want this feature), daylight running lights and an improved sound system (unlikely until the 8th gen, but you never know).

We plan to wait for the 06 EX since we're interested in some of those features. We were ready to buy another Camry, but after renting a LX4 sedan recently, we liked the Accord better.

Reading all those features, I feel that only the LED and upgraded sound system are really probable. I really doubt everything else, except maybe DRL's and VSA. Just my $0.02

Isn't the Camry also due for a body change soon? Honda better react or get used to being second.

The 2007 Camry will arrive in about 8-10 months. I'm sure Honda already has the specs on it which may explain all of these rumors about a more extensive MMC than normal for the 06 Accord (it will have to be competitive with the 07 Camry).
