Ideas for my somewhat new Accord! Inputs are welcome!

Hello there!

After a very long time being a lurker, one day ;), I finally decided to join you fellas. I just "inherited" my sister's 2002 Sedan SE (auto) and would like some input/help with the ideas I have in mind for it. I was suppose to buy a new car, deciding between the '13 Accord, Civic, and an FRS, but my sister suddenly pulled the trigger and bought herself a '13 TSX. You know what that means! Free car for this guy!!!! Anyway, since I am a student, got my bachelor's from a local CC :lmao:, I finally decided transferred to the local Uni. With that, I am somewhat in a budget, and might get that spanking new car after I graduate in 2-3 years from now. So for the next 2-3 years, I'll be driving this baby as my daily. Might as well make her look good. And that is where I will need help :)

So, she is an automatic 2002 Sedan SE. Aside from the fluids, tires and air filter from her first day on the road, she is pretty much stock. Running with 103k miles as of today. I seriously have no previous modding experience. Drove a lude, altima, to a POS car, before this accord, but never did anything to them. So, please be gentle with me when you find myself not making any sense at all :D.

Moving on, here are some of the ideas I have for this baby:

1. Paint - Sticking to the Nighthawk Black. Any suggestions on where to get my paint job? I'm located at Los Angeles, around the old Rampart LAPD station.

2. HID - Probably go with a kit first, 4300K/5000K;35W, then maybe retrofit if I find money lying around somewhere. I know they are illegal, but i'm trying to minimize the attention i'll get from LAPD. I'm leaning towards 4300K, but open up to other suggestions. Any kits that you would recommend? Where to get it?

3. Tint - Just going to tint my rear sides and rear windshield. Don't want to get pulled over for the illegal front tints. For some reason, cops love to pull me over when they go on their fishing trips. I tend to get the "license please!" no registration/insurance needed. :thumbsdow I read here that California Tint at SGV is a good place, but any other suggestions will be appreciated.

4. Window Visors - I might just get it for the front windows. Saw someone here with that and it looks not too bad, granted that I do get my tint.

5. Fog Lights - I'll post a pic of my stock front bumper, but if you're familiar with the '02 SE Sedan bumper, you'll know that it doesn't have a hole for the fog lights. Do I just cut for whatever fog lights I decide to get? I've been reading and seen that a CF4 fog light for a 01-02 bumper are a great combo. However, I wasn't sure if the bumper is for a coupe or a sedan. Then again, it is hard to get a CF4 fog from what I read. Suggestions are welcome.

6. Front lip - If I do get fogs, I think this is a must. Unless I don't do the upcoming...

7. Get it lowered - Most of you will probably, if not all, tell me to do this. However, this is the thing, I already touch concrete when I park the car into the garage when I don't enter with a specific angle. I'm afraid that if I lower it even a bit, it will be stance without it being slammed.

8. Wheels - This will be probably be the last one after #7 is resolved. I live in LA, around rampart/silverlake/echo park area. If you're familiar with the area, I just can't leave her on the street forever! Oh, garage doesn't have a gate atm, but i'll probably get one soon.

9. LEDs - On boring days, I might just do the interior and license plate. I might even gauge cluster, but highly unlikely.

What i'm going to do soon, change the cabin air filter! I tried earlier, but the console panel is a real PITA! I got the 2 clips on the top released, but I can't seem to get it out. Do I pull from the bottom towards the shifter, or do I grab the top and push it downwards? The latter seems like i'm going to break the clips on the bottom. I did saw the video in the sticky, but it is not that easy for my accord.

Thanks for reading such a long first post! I'll keep updating this thread with pics if I end up doing anything at all. This is completely just for the appearance, I might not get into performance upgrade. This is actually my first car with an auto tranny.

Before you do anything, make sure your maintenance is up to date, including belts, hoses, water pump, timing belt, spark plugs, wires cap, rotor and all fluids then you can start with the toys. Remember the more you do to it, the more other people will want it.

I actually did that before it reached 100k. Split the cost with my sister then because she didn't want to shell out money for it since she knows she'll be getting a new car soon. I'm just hoping the tranny holds up though.
