:(

I hate that for you. Hope there was no significant damage.

I did this with a sunroof once. It was terrible. It was a really nice day out when I parked, but as the hours went by the sky turned green. It was blowing and raining like hell. Then I realized that I had left it open.

I was wearing a tshirt and shorts with flip flops on taking an evening class at a local college in Kansas City. On the way to the car, the wind was blowing so strong that it blew me down (REALLY) it took my shoe and blew it away, never to be seen again. I did however get to the car and got inside, There wasnt much water inside because it was blowing to the side so much. Thankfully I had my track shoes in the car. I put those on and ran back inside as the large rooftop AC unit lost some large part into the parking lot.

I didnt learn well. I did it again 2 months after that. This time with a slow soaking rain. I had to take the seats out and use the hand rug doctor thing to get all the water out.

Ditto, although I did learn after the first time :lmao:

Yeah, I did it once too in my '91. I had to shop vac the passenger seat to get all the water out, and then I used this air freshener stuff that worked really well. It was a liquid that you put into a ceramic cup. It got the gross smell out of the car within a day.

^^^

"ASS" = Yelled at wife; kicked the dog; flipped off a nun

"DUMBASS" = Left window open when it rained

 (JK, dude)

I haven't left the windows down, but I do have a habit of leaving the doors unlocked sometimes. Scary since the headline in the local paper the other day said that my city is the 15th most dangerous in California. According to the article, some parts of LA are safer than the area I live in. Anyone recall those neighbors I was talking about in another thread? Time to move!

Too bad on soaking your car. :thumbsdow Hopefully you get some good before and after pics to show everyone the excellent job you do cleaning up? :naughty:

It doesn't seem to have done much damage. I have leather, so the seats are fine. I am worried about the eletronics in the door. I can see a little water that was resting in the little holes in the speaker cover, and I know some water got into the window button. As for the carpet, I mopped up most of the water with paper towels and stuff, and it is already dry.

BUT! NOw my windows have water condensation on the inside, and won't defrost. I tried to whipe it off with a rag, but that just caused it to streak and get all messy. I have to go to autozone and check out some anti fog options.

Water getting into the doors is not a problem, the doors should have holes along the botton for just such an event. Just make sure the little rubber bungs they have fitted when brand new, have been removed by the dealer before sale. You don't want your doors filling up in a storm! :paranoid: :lmao:
