definitely not as nice as some of them but drove around all day and so far so good
night shot mode
rear shot:
Materials Used:
1. Universal Mount for Tablets and Devices like this
if you've ever mounted anything on the Front Windshield, usually the Suction Cups stops sticking, mainly due to sun damage or other wear/tear. The Universal Mount wasn't very sticky and wouldn't stick at all. 3M Double Sided Mounting Tape 20lbs. @ Home Depot is around $20 bucks a roll.(the smaller rolls are cheaper) bit expensive for Tape but its a long roll and would cost probably double at an Auto Parts store and not be as strong
2. 3M Extreme Double Sided Mounting Tape
note: there is also a up to a 5lbs and 10lbs version of this Tape but decided to go with highest one possible
3. not sure if i'm going to need this so this may not be a necessary step, only time will tell if the 3M Tape holds up to Colorado Winters & Summers
also bought a Three pack of 3M Damage Free Hanging w/easy pull tabs. if i don't need these, can just remove by pulling w/out sticker residue that probably will be left by the double sided tape:
mounted 3 in a triangle formation and wire to wrap around the Universal Holder. doesn't look pretty but hopefully this will keep it more secure from all the bumps, direct sunlight, freezing temps the 3M Tape will endure
will take daytime pics ASAP. hopefully this can help anyone looking to mount a Device on the Front Windsheild. iPad weighs in @ 1.4 pds. so almost any other device should be fine weight wise since i believe most all Smartphones, etc. weigh in under a pound
