Hello all.

This was my first experience with vinyl wrapping. Overall, I'm very pleased with the result.

I purchased a 3'x4' vinyl wrap off ebay for $54. For the amount I actually used, I could have gone with half that size. But you know, just buying extra to be cautious. The vinyl wrap is 3M Di-Noc Black Carbon Fiber Matte. Excellent quality product.

I only wanted to wrap specific panels for an accent look. I've seen others wrap almost every plastic part of their interiors, but I thought it looked excessive.

…

QUESTION: Does anyone know how to pry off the plastic panel around the chrome door handle? I wanted to wrap this piece as well, but was having difficulty and was scared to crack it.

Also, I don't really care for the silver/grey accents in the middle console (around the radio and temperature controls). Those seem harder to remove and I'm ok leaving as is. …But if you know how to remove, please reply. Or maybe I can tape off the controls and plastidip those silver/grey accents matte black? Thoughts?

…

If the vinyl wrapping looks good, then credit goes to my cousin who helped me tremendously. If it looks shoddy, well then that was probably me. :p There are some tiny imperfections if you inspect closely, but I'm ok with it. Besides, I really enjoyed the learning experience and making slight modifications to an already great car.

I also replaced all the interior, trunk, licence plate lights with LEDs and have HIDs for the low beams (5000k) and fog lights (3000k).

wow that looks amazing. good job.

Very nice - did my last car this way...once you get the pieces off , it's so easy once you understand how much it will stretch and "wilt" when heat is applied

nice job...

Initially, I thought this was going to be a terrible "rice" modification. Then I opened the thread. :notworthy. Personally, I think that the vinyl you installed looks better than what was on a few of the parts from the factory. Nice work!:thmsup:

You can purchase the door assembly ornaments from the Honda eStore parts web site. That way, you can cover new ones and not worry about breaking the old ones. Sample part number would be 83560-T2A-A11ZB.

@KMH – thanks. i think the matte carbon fiber gives a more subdued look as opposed to the glossy carbon fiber. some of those ricer modifications are in poor taste. makes the car look cheap, which is what i'm trying to avoid.

@vh2k – thanks for the part number. price is $51 tho. trying not to spend more than i have to, but good to know there's options. i just can't tell where the clips are exactly or if there's a screw or if i need to remove the entire door panel blah blah blah.

@turdburger – yea, those L-shaped parts are not attractive. they're held in by clips only tho. pretty easy to remove. even if i didn't wrap them, spraying them black might be a good option.

BTW, I know many of us 13 owners appreciate this kind of info/trivia. Maybe someone will add to the FAQ.

There are currently four interior trim/ornament colors available in the United States:

New Middle Silver - found on LX models
Full Gloss Dot Black - found on Sport and coupes
Selenite Brown - found on higher trims
Stibnite Metallic - found on Plug-in

There is a new color available for the middle east model, but I don't know the official color name.

I was ready to dislike this when I read the caption, but wow, it looks great. Very nice job.

Would be even nicer on the climate control silver face lift.
I was wondering that - it's the nastiest part of the interior - but not sure how it would look and whether or not the vinyl is too thick and would therefor make the temp control buttons hard to use.

this is the biggest part of the car I hate, the alum looks the same quality as the top of my coke can...looks super cheapo..the only thing I can think of would be to professionally spray it black gloss/clear - I don't think you can powder coat it....

I've used a lot of the stuff above and I think it's too thick...

yea, the vinyl wrap is thick enough where i think it would cause problems for the console controls. the spacing is too tight. i may try to plastidip it black one day then.

What's the best way to dismount these panels without marring the edges? Are you using your fingernails or a screwdriver?
Trim removal tools are the best!!. With screwdriver you're risking it by scratching them. I have used my hands for door panels and vents
