I've noticed that Honda seems to have gone a bit overboard when it comes to sealing the interior of this car. Perhaps they were a little too worried about road/engine noise?

I have three main complaints / concerns:

1) The driver door is hard to close, often needs to be re-opened and closed harder.
*This problem resolves itself if any other window is open, or if the driver window itself is open.

2) While driving I often noticed the need to pop my ears. Not a problem I used to have in the prius. At first I thought maybe I was just having issues from allergies, but after several recent and successful scuba diving excursions I can confirm there was no sinus congestion.

3) If you roll down both rear door windows while driving at freeway speeds there is far too much air pressure created.
* I noticed my rear windshield will vibrate quite a bit if I roll down my rear windows while on the freeway. Enough it made me concerned something could become damaged.

Now if only I had a working gracenote database! :(

I've never noticed a problem with closing the doors.

In this part of the country, ear-popping is a frequent necessity, so I'm not sure that I have a worse problem with the '13 Accord or not. I'll have to pay closer attention and maybe open a window when I'm having problems popping my ears.

I drive at interstate speeds about 70mph with all the windows open with no problem. On my '03 Accord, I would get some kind of standing wave issue going on with only the back windows open--a kind of whop-whop sound. I haven't noticed that with the '13, probably because I'm conditioned not to open only the rear windows.

you gotta sell this car so you can get on with your life...seriously....sealed too well?

OMG....:headbash:

Everyone's allowed to have their opinions. Apparently that is as long as they also are yours. Go QQ about headlights, or contribute to the post.
Then just ignore his opinions.

Just curious, do you have the air system always set to "recirculate?" Does setting it to allow outside air ventilation at least make the doors easier to close?

Have not seen that driver door air pressure issue our doors essentially close by themselves with their own weight. Could it be the doors require some adjustments?

My 2000 Toyota Avalon does that.. Both rear roll down and then experience wind buffeting. Normal. I get rid of the buffeting by open or tilt sunroof or crack front window.

On my coupe, same thing, I open the pass window and at certain speed or high speed, it starts to buffeting. Then I tilt up the sunroof.

High pressure entering the cabin. But no exit.

all of the "issues" that you are describing are completely normal with the car....

enjoy it!

Some German cars roll the window glass down just a tad when the door is opened, and only roll the windows back up when the door is closed, thus not creating a positive pressure to upset the occupants.

Every car I've driven get the pressure when I have only the rear windows down. I solve it by venting the sunroof on my 07.
+1. Never experienced a car where this doesn't occur.

It ruffles my hair unattractively.

Door too hard to close?! Go do some push ups.

21st century problems eh?

I have noticed you have to slam the doors harder than my TSX and if I have a passenger closing the door at the same time 9/10 times one of our doors won't close tightly. I just figured it meant the car was built way tighter lol

There a twistable black plastic knob on the door. The more it is twisted out the harder to close the door. Twist it all the way in, the door is easier to close using a little effort. But down side is the door bounce if the gap between the knob and the b-pillar?(the pillar where your seat belt is at) is large, the door closing sound will not be a pleasant sound(not sturdy sound, wobbly). Twist it out enough that the door closing sound sturdy.

I believe cars do this if they have doors without window frames. The windows retract slightly to clear the window seal on the car body side and allows the doors to actually open.

I highly doubt it has anything to do with preventive passengers from suffering from "over pressure".

Come ride in my 98 Benz. Each door is heavier then the rear half of the accord. That will fix your door problem at least. LOL!! I thought I was going to break the Accord door the first couple times I closed it. As for sound dampening? Ha! I love my Honda, but I can hear stuff on the outside I haven't heard in years.

I think any car you open only both the rear windows will create weird air pressure issues.

Ill try the bumper trick and see if it makes any difference. Thanks for the suggestion!

I know every car in the world has the issue with windows being open, but this was so intense I seriously thought my rear windshield was going to pop out. It's easy enough to reproduce, if you don't believe me go give it a shot.
